ATHOS beamline at Swiss FEL, Paul Scherrer Institut, Switzerland
The design of the FURKA RIXS for the SwissFEL is similar to the hRIXS for the European XFEL (see P470) and benefited from the prior development of the hRIXS. The challenge here was to realize the required variable incidence angle on the detector, which is rigidly connected to the detector chamber, without blocking part of the beam and the detector.
For detailed information on the RIXS spherical grating monochromator and its performance, see P495-SGM.
